Save our koalas

Save our koalas

Following a year-long Inquiry, the NSW Parliamentary Inquiry into Koala Populations and Habitat has handed down its report -- and it must be a game changer.

The cross-party committee’s key finding is that without urgent government intervention, the koala will be extinct by 2050.

The government’s current policies and strategies aren’t working. They are failing to protect enough koala habitat for different populations across the state.

This report has 42 recommendations that provide a road map for the NSW government to save our koalas. The ball is now in Environment Minister Matt Kean’s court.
